My phone won’t work when I’m abroad (Android)

If you’re abroad or returning to Spain but your phone has not connected to a Network, it may be that your SIM card settings have not updated.

Remember, when abroad you will need to connect to one of our roaming partners, the list of roaming destination along with the operators to connect to can be found at International Calls.

1. In the case that you find yourself unable to connect to any available networks when you arrive at a roaming destination.

Please locate the ‘SIM Toolkit’ App on your phone menu (it may also be called ‘Lobster Mobile’ or ‘Lobster SIM’)

Will look like the following:

  • Open SIM toolkit
  • ‘Network Selection’
  • Select ‘Lobster Roaming’

This should be set to ‘Automatic’, but if you are having trouble latching on to a roaming network then please click on ‘Lobster Roaming’ if you are abroad, or ‘Lobster Spain’ if you are back in Spain.

Changes are automatically saved and your SIM settings will refresh.

Return to your settings and allow your handset to connect to an available network;

  • Settings
  • Connections/SIM cards & Mobile Networks
  • Mobile Networks
  • Search Manually

Select one of the roaming operators stated on International Calls or Lobster if you’re back in Spain.

2. In the case that your data does not kick in once you arrive abroad:

  • Settings
  • Mobile Networks
  • Access Point Names
  • New APN / +

Fill in the fields in BOLD

  1. Name: Lobster internet
  2. APN: lobster
  3. Proxy: Ignore
  4. Port: Ignore
  5. Username:
  6. Password:
  7. Ignore from Server to MMS port.
  8. MCC: 266
  9. MNC: 01
  10. Authentication type: NONE
  11. APN type: default,supl
  12. APN protocol: IPv4
  13. Bearer: Unspecified

Save:

  •  Press the Options key and select Save.
  • Select the Activation icon of the new profile.

3. In the case that your data does not kick in once you arrive back in Spain:

  • Settings
  • Mobile Networks
  • Access Point Names
  • New APN / +

Fill in the fields in BOLD

  1. Name: Lobster internet
  2. APN: lobster
  3. Proxy: Ignore
  4. Port: Ignore
  5. Username:
  6. Password:
  7. Ignore from Server to MMS port.
  8. MCC: 214
  9. MNC: 10
  10. Authentication type: NONE
  11. APN type: default,supl
  12. APN protocol: IPv4
  13. Bearer: Unspecified

Save:

  • Press the Options key and select Save.
  • Select the Activation icon of the new profile.
