How do I test my fibre speed?

To find out what fibre speed you’re getting the easiest tool to use is the Speedtest by Ookla website (there’s an app available too for mobile devices).

It’s important to understand that speed test results are affected by the capabilities of your device and also how it’s connected to the router. Devices can have limitations depending on their networking hardware and age. Not all devices have the very latest generation Wi-Fi which can reach ultra-fast speeds. Also, connecting over Wi-Fi has limitations depending how far away your device is from the router and interference from other electronic devices.

For the best results we recommend that you connect your device directly to the router with an ethernet cable.

Here’s how to use Speedtest by Ookla:

  1. On your device open a web browser such as Google Chrome and click Speedtest by Ookla, or download and open the Speedtest by Ookla app which is available for mobile devices.
  2. For the best results check that the ‘Grupo MásMóvil’ server has been automatically selected.
  3. Before starting the test ensure that no other device on your network is running any downloads or uploads.
  4. Click the ‘Go’ button and wait for the results to be shown!
